Professor Caroline Gargett, PhD, is a NHMRC Leadership Fellow, Women’s Health Theme Leader and heads the Endometrial Stem Cell Biology Laboratory at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research and Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Monash University. She discovered endometrial stem/progenitor cells and now is investigating their role in endometriosis and developing a bioengineered therapy for treating and preventing pelvic organ prolapse using endometrial mesenchymal stem cells. She is a Director of the National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia and Stem Cells Limited, Scientific Advisory Board member of the Endometriosis Foundation of America, and Foundation for Research on Endometriosis, France.
