Thorir finished his Ph.D. on human gametes and embryos in 2002. After that he worked as an embryologist in Gothenburg for almost 20 years. He has published a number of scientific articles within the field of IVF in peer reviewed journals and is currently holding a position as Clinical Investigation Manager at Vitrolife.
